Correspondence Course

An Extract from Part One

(a few notes taken from the

lesson on connecting strokes)

In the extract from the Teach Yourself Course, a description of connectedness is given. The correspondence course, as you will see on this page, goes into more detail.

The following points should be mentioned in the working notes if they appear in the writing more than occasionally :
(a) Invisible connections the pen comes off the paper, but continues along the same line, so that if the pen were on the paper the flow would not be interrupted
(b) Mending where the letter has been amended for perhaps clarity or some other reason
(c) False connections the letters appear to be connected but are in fact disconnected when looked at closely or with a magnifying glass
(d) Breaks occuring after a diacritic i dot or t cross
(e) Breaks after capital letters there is a space between the capital letter and the second letter of the word
