An Extract from Part One
lesson on connecting strokes)
| In the extract from the Teach Yourself Course, a description of connectedness is given. The correspondence course, as you will see on this page, goes into more detail. |
| The following points should be mentioned in the working notes if they appear in the writing more than occasionally : | ||
|---|---|---|
| (a) | Invisible connections | the pen comes off the paper, but continues along the same line, so that if the pen were on the paper the flow would not be interrupted |
| (b) | Mending | where the letter has been amended for perhaps clarity or some other reason |
| (c) | False connections | the letters appear to be connected but are in fact disconnected when looked at closely or with a magnifying glass |
| (d) | Breaks occuring after a diacritic | i dot or t cross |
| (e) | Breaks after capital letters | there is a space between the capital letter and the second letter of the word |
